“The more I work with Tutor Doctor, the more I find this company really cares about its franchisees.”
We welcomed Michelle Smallwood into the Tutor Doctor family less than a year ago and she has been making a big mark in Bee Cave, Lakeway and Dripping Springs, TX.
Thanks to her community connections and concentrated marketing efforts, Michelle’s business is growing according to plan. But even more than professional growth, Tutor Doctor has given Michelle the support she needs, which allows her to spend more time where it matters most — with her family.
Michelle was drawn to the Tutor Doctor franchise opportunity because of the support we empower each franchisee with. “All the material for me is step-by-step,” Michelle says. “There is no guessing, there is a lot of great information and resources available to me.” Tutor Doctor support includes marketing materials, partnership possibilities and comprehensive training.
“The more I work with Tutor Doctor, the more I find this company really cares about its franchisees,” Michelle says. “I’ve been able to expand my earning capacity by the partnerships with outside vendors like SAT/ACT test prep and How Cool is That.”
Michelle has worked with other leaders in her community to build connections, like business partnerships and neighborhood partnerships, that have helped her expand the profile of her Tutor Doctor business in her community.
In addition to her desire to help the children in her community and the support Tutor Doctor offers, Michelle is also motivated by the lifestyle Tutor Doctor’s flexibility allows her to lead. Our franchise model allows franchisees to work from home and schedule their appointments like tutor interviews, initial consultations, and visiting schools in a way that works for them.
“I get to spend my kids’ time off with them and not have to send them to daycare,” Michelle says. “Our busy and slow seasons correspond to the school year. It’s perfect.”
Michelle's Experience with Tutor Doctor
Because the tutoring we offer supports the curriculum our students are learning in school, when school is out in the summer, or over winter break, our franchisees are able to focus more on executive business functions instead of performing consultations, matching families with students and visiting schools.
Even on a daily basis, the flexible Tutor Doctor model allows Michelle to spend more time with her family than she was able to during her corporate career as a director of information technology. “I get to volunteer at my kids’ school,” Michelle says. “I am spending a lot more time with my children, and it is better for my family.”
Like Michelle, many Tutor Doctor franchisees are parents who are looking for the freedom to spend more quality time with their families.
